About The Position

The Utility Clerk position is designed to assist customers in their shopping experience by sacking purchases and supporting general store operations in an efficient, friendly, and courteous manner. This role formally reports to the Office Manager and is classified as a non-exempt position.

Requirements

  • Completion of ongoing training and development as listed on the Cosentino's Learning Plan.
  • Ability to obtain a valid liquor license prior to the first day of work.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize proper bagging techniques to minimize product damage, maximize efficiency and avoid shrink.
  • Know and implement the Cosentino's Customer Service Standards.
  • Know store items, procedures, and policies to accurately and courteously answer customer questions.
  • Deliver groceries to and load them into customer's vehicles when requested.
  • Assist customers in locating items in the store.
  • Retrieve carts from the parking lot and ensure they are safe and clean for customer use.
  • Conduct price checks for cashiers.
  • Monitor the sales floor, cashier stands, and restrooms for cleanliness and keep these areas tidy and safe for customers and employees.
  • Resolve customer complaints in a professional manner and recognize when to involve a member of the store management team.
  • Know, comply with, and encourage compliance with all health regulations, sanitation guidelines, and safety procedures.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain all equipment safely and competently.
  • Meet or exceed productivity standards to produce desired team and individual results.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal skills for positive customer and peer interactions.
  • Demonstrate basic math and reading skills required for the position.
  • Know and follow all government regulations regarding alcohol and tobacco sales.
