About The Position

Under general supervision of the Supervisor, the Corrosion Technician applies corrosion skills and aptitude to repair, install, troubleshoot, and perform other predictive and preventative maintenance tasks on assigned corrosion control equipment, facilities, systems, and associated devices.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent including a minimum 2 years' experience in corrosion control supporting pipeline integrity projects.
  • NACE certified CP level 1 required
  • Technical knowledge for the application and maintenance of external & internal corrosion control.
  • Excellent verbal & written communications skills and be capable of effectively interfacing with all levels of management, field personnel, and professionals.
  • Must be able to use sound judgment, be a self-starter and well organized.
  • Detailed knowledge of pipeline operations, API, DOT procedures and HES.
  • Proficiency utilizing MS Applications.
  • Able to use and operate all pertinent safety equipment when performing duties in potentially hazardous areas (respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, etc.).
  • Must be able to work alone and outdoors in extreme weather and perform heavy physical labor in a safe manner.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license for the state of residence.

Responsibilities

  • Must be proficient in corrosion control and pipeline integrity methods and technologies, have a working knowledge of measurement, electrical, and mechanical activities.
  • Whether performing or supervising others within an assigned area, specialists are responsible for a variety of tasks involved in analyzing, advanced troubleshooting, testing, monitoring, maintaining, installing, repairing, maintenance, etc.
  • Expected to respond to call-out situations and may be required to perform additional duties due to operational upsets, construction projects, emergencies or other unusual situations.
  • Must perform all duties in a safe manner consistent with Company procedures and policies and responsible for training.
  • Provides assistance to District personnel. Have a working knowledge of measurement, mechanical and electrical/electronic activities as it is related to the corrosion control duties.
  • The ambition to continue to learn the most modern methods of corrosion control, including attending classes, trainings, seminars, etc.
