About The Position

THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT ATTEMPT TO LIST ALL OF THE DUTIES THAT ARE OR MAY BE PERFORMED IN THIS POSITION Primary Duties 1. Designs galvanic and impressed cathodic protection systems. 2. Identifies and mitigates interference problems in cathodic protection systems. Maintains knowledge of external corrosion control monitoring and mitigation. Oversees indirect surveys and cathodic protection testing including ACVG, DCVG, ACCA, coating conductance and current demand testing and determines the location of test stations. 3. Possesses a thorough understand of internal corrosion monitoring and mitigation such as use of coupons, gas and debris sampling, and use of internal corrosion inhibitors, cleaners and biocides. 4. Provides recommendations regarding the development and evaluation of the Company's operating standards. 5. Reviews paperwork regarding completed jobs for accuracy and adherence to original design specifications. 6. Assists in the coordination of pipeline integrity activities between departments to ensure the timely completion of projects. 7. Manages cathodic protection system projects through the construction process to ensure timely completion. Ensures projects are conducted according to Atmos’ policies and procedures as well as State and Federal regulations. Obtains necessary approvals from project sponsors.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and 5 years of corrosion control experience, or equivalent
  • Must hold AMPP CP1 Tester Certification
  • Valid driver's license
  • Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or modifications on technical or other complex concepts.
  • Requires the ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages and advanced to complex statistical methods.
  • Requires intermediate to advanced computer skills for data entry, report creation and/or retrieval tasks.
  • As a Safety-Sensitive position, pre and post-employment screenings, including but not limited to drug testing as outlined by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Pipeline & Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), and motor vehicle record (MVR) background checks are required.
