About The Position

The position involves the installation, maintenance, and operation of cathodic protection systems to ensure the safety and reliability of natural gas distribution. The role requires conducting electrical surveys, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining accurate records to comply with regulatory requirements. The candidate will also interact with regulatory auditors and respond to emergencies, demonstrating a commitment to safety and company values.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of natural gas corrosion control, construction and maintenance and/or service field experience, or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of specific Workday Learning courses prior to applying for this position: Basic Math Self-Assessment 1, Basic Math Self-Assessment 2, Corrosion Theory.
  • Must obtain and maintain any required Operator Qualifications (OQ) and classroom training or certifications.
  • Requires valid driver's license in accordance with Company standards.
  • Records management system experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with internal/external customers to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or information.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, maintains and operates cathodic protection systems.
  • Collects information to aid in the design of cathodic protection systems.
  • Conducts electrical surveys and current requirement tests necessary for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of cathodic protection systems.
  • Identifies and corrects basic and routine problems in cathodic protection systems.
  • Maintains maps and records pertinent to cathodic protection systems.
  • Inspects rectifier and deep-or-shallow ground bed installations.
  • Interacts with and helps to build positive relationships with regulatory auditors.
  • Performs activities to ensure responsiveness to natural gas and other emergencies.
  • Completes and maintains accurate records and reports to comply with Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Identifies, addresses, and reports safety and encroachment issues to their resolution and completion.
  • Responsible for the safe operation and inspection of assigned Company vehicles and equipment.
