About The Position

Supervises individuals in custody in accordance with agency rules and standards. Observes individuals in custody and reports behavior and reactions to other professional team members. Receives on-going training to develop new and updated skills and improve proficiency incarrying out specialized service delivery programs involving group or individual services to individuals in custody. Ensures individuals in custody have access to necessary and appropriate medical services. Maintains assigned area in a safe, clean, and orderly condition. Transports and supervises individuals in custody movement to and from destinations inside and/or outside the facility grounds including but not limited to, correctional centers, court and hospitals. Translates functions/procedures into Spanish for individuals who cannot speak or read English. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Requirements

  • Requires successful completion of the Corrections Treatment Officer Training Program.
  • Requires the physical ability to perform duties assigned.
  • Requires a valid, appropriate driver's license and an ability to travel statewide.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires the ability to pass a drug screen.
  • Applicants are required to abide by all vaccine and/or other medical standards as set out by the employer.
  • Requires ability to carry a firearm.
  • Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
