About The Position
The Travis County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Corrections Specialist to support inmate processing and legal documentation management. This role is essential to ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while working closely with law enforcement agencies, the courts, and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ). As a Corrections Specialist, you will review and process court documents, assess criminal histories, and conduct intake screenings per PREA (28 CFR Part 115) to assist in determining appropriate inmate housing assignments. Your work will involve handling legal records, coordinating inmate transfers, and ensuring procedural accuracy in compliance with Texas Penal Code § 37.10, CJIS Security Policy, and Texas Open Records laws. This position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to legal procedures, and collaboration with multiple criminal justice agencies.
