About The Position

The Corrections Program Coordinator for Jail Based Behavioral Services at the Boulder County Sheriff's Office is responsible for overseeing the delivery of evidence-based behavioral health services in jails. This includes medication-assisted treatment for substance use disorders, individual and group therapies, and recovery supports. The program aims to provide appropriate behavioral health services to incarcerated individuals while ensuring continuity of care post-release. The position involves both leadership responsibilities and direct client care, requiring a balance between managing staff and providing therapeutic interventions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of post-graduate experience in providing mental health therapy services.
  • Master's degree in behavioral health field (Social Work, Psychology, Counseling).
  • Current clinical licensure required as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Psychologist.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Knowledge of and experience with evidence-based clinical practice.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage competing demands.

Nice To Haves

  • Correctional and/or forensic mental health and substance use experience.
  • Jail experience recommended but not disqualifying.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor documentation and oversee clinical care delivery to ensure regulatory standards and/or contractual requirements are met.
  • Foster staff development and competence through supervision, training, and team meetings.
  • Promote a positive culture of collaboration with various teams and community stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular individual and group supervision sessions to support professional development, clinical growth, and skill enhancement of clinicians.
  • Review and co-sign clinical notes, treatment plans, and other documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Perform audits of assessments, treatment plans, and service notes to verify client coordination is appropriately documented.
  • Serve as a liaison between clinicians, other healthcare professionals, operations staff, and administrative staff.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluation processes for therapists.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and formulate individualized treatment plans for clients.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address the individualized needs of clients.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client encounters, treatment interventions, and progress notes.
