Job Purpose and Objectives: Responsible for overseeing individuals who have been arrested and are awaiting trial or who have been sentenced to serve time in jail for Montgomery County. Prior military, law enforcement or security experience preferred 3. 18 years of age, ability to pass a background check, drug screening and a physical exam Certifications / Licenses: 1. Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: 1. Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations 2. Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work 3. Ability to fulfill all duties with minimal supervision and to work independently 4. Monitors inmate behavior and maintains order within the facility Conducts routine head counts, inspections, and security checks Escorts inmates to and from cells, courtrooms, visitation areas, and medical facilities Searches inmates, cells, and common areas for contraband Responds to incidents, disturbances, and emergencies according to established procedures Enforces facility rules and reports violations Completes detailed and accurate incident reports and daily logs Supervises inmate activities, including meals, recreation, and work assignments Operates surveillance systems, locks, and two-way radios Enforces and maintains compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances Performs other duties as assigned or deemed necessary Complies with all organizational and departmental policies and procedures Operates all job-related equipment, machinery, tools, and other aids as required or needed Protects and maintains any confidential information you have access to, whether oral, written, or electronic Work Environment and Physical Demands: The work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
