About The Position
The Lansing Correctional Facility is seeking a full-time Corrections Officer I (A) to supervise and maintain discipline and control of residents at all times. The position involves performing searches of residents and their physical areas to prevent the introduction of contraband, observing and monitoring resident activities, and enforcing policies, rules, and regulations. The officer will follow established security procedures, control visitors and staff, and respond to emergency situations according to contingency plans. The role requires regular rotation of post and/or shift assignments and includes an initial 12-month probationary period. Officers must qualify with weapons under KDOC guidelines during initial training and annually thereafter.
