About The Position

The Corrections Lieutenant at Indian Creek Correctional Center contributes to the public safety mission by managing daily activities of Security Supervisors, Corrections Officers, and Inmates in an institutional setting. This position supervises and monitors staff on assigned shifts to ensure a safe, secure, and productive environment. The lieutenant leads and counsels staff, coordinates work schedules, and assigns duty rosters for the assigned shift. Additionally, the role contributes to the administration of the performance management system for staff, conducts ongoing inspections to maintain security, sanitation, and good order of the institution, and interacts with management, staff, visitors, inmates, and the public to maintain orderly and secure operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • DCJS Certification.
  • Considerable experience in corrections or law enforcement.
  • Experience supervising corrections staff.
  • Working experience planning, scheduling, and/or organizing work.
  • Experience in reviewing and evaluating records and reports.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of practices and procedures governing security and/or administration.
  • Ability to receive, understand, follow, and give oral and written instructions.
  • Working knowledge in the use of firearms, radio equipment, physical control devices, electric and electronic controls.

Nice To Haves

  • LEAD Graduate or equivalent applicable experience and/or training.
  • Working experience with evidence-based practices.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office programs to include Outlook.
