About The Position

The Corrections Activities Specialist at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) Camp Hill is responsible for coordinating and supervising recreational and leisure programs for inmates. Requirements

• A bachelor's degree with major coursework in recreation and physical education, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• Must meet the PA residency requirement.
• Must pass a background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Organize, instruct, and supervise inmate programs and leisure activities.
• Schedule and coordinate sports, games, creative arts, and social recreation programs.
• Coach or assist with coaching various sports such as basketball, soccer, and power lifting.
• Demonstrate basic sports techniques and the use of fitness equipment.
• Supervise inmate organizations and self-help groups.
