Requirements

• A bachelor's degree with major course work in recreation and physical education; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA.
• Must meet the PA residency requirement.
• Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Organizing, instructing, and supervising inmate programs, leisure time activities, inmate work crews, and sports at SCI Benner Township.
• Scheduling, coordinating, and teaching programs at all levels of interest and ability in the areas of sports, games, creative and performing arts, and social recreation.
• Coaching or assisting in the coaching of various sports, sports techniques, and the use of fitness equipment.
• Supervising inmate organizations and self-help groups.
