Maine Correctional Center is seeking skilled and qualified applicants for the position of Plant Maintenance Engineer I at our modern, high-tech, state-of-the-art medium/minimum-security facility in Windham, ME. The successful applicant will play a critical role in maintaining essential systems within a correctional setting. As a Plant Maintenance Engineer I, you will perform a variety of structural and craft work, including the operation, maintenance, and repair of complex systems such as high-pressure steam plants, boilers, water, heating, sewage, and electrical systems, and install and maintain pumps, as well as repair turbines. This role also involves overseeing and instructing resident crews in their assigned tasks, while always ensuring appropriate behavior & safety. In addition to your technical duties, you will be responsible for monitoring and guiding MCC residents as they work on various maintenance projects. Applicants must be willing to participate in stand-by rotation and work holidays and snow days, when necessary. Work is performed under limited supervision.
