The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department manages and operates a 481-bed Jail which contains a combination of direct supervision and remote supervision housing pods. It is a maximum-security facility which houses male and female, pre-trial and sentenced offenders. The Department is also responsible for inmates who have release privileges for work, education, child or elder care, and treatment programs. It employs approximately 160 corrections staff. Waukesha County invites applications for a full-time Correctional Officer position, noting that previous corrections experience is not required.
