About The Position
Join the Wyoming Department of Corrections to pursue an exciting field in law enforcement. We seek motivated individuals to be Correctional Officers in the Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution. This facility serves as a primary education and treatment center for inmates identified as requiring high levels of protective custody, as well as those who need medical, mental health, dental, substance abuse, life skills, cognitive and behavioral, and/or sex offender treatment services. The Wyoming Department of Corrections operates this medium-security facility. The WDOC is committed to public safety, high correctional standards, and a safe, supportive working environment for our employees. We now seek Correctional Officers for our institutions: This position is essential for maintaining the institution's safety and security and is considered a Law Enforcement position and is receiving a 20-year retirement package. Successful candidates are awarded Correctional Officer Certification by the Wyoming Peace Officers Standards & Training (POST) Commission within one year of initial appointment and receive excellent training.
