About The Position

Correctional Nurses provide professional nursing care to patients in a correctional setting. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. The Department of Corrections is seeking to fill Correctional Nurse 2 positions at Ely State Prison. Incumbents will be under the supervision of the Correctional Nurse 3 and will consult with them on a regular basis. They will communicate plans with team members by attending nursing meetings and share with other team members. The Correctional Nurse will plan patient care addressing chief presenting problems incorporating the plan of nursing care into the multidisciplinary treatment plan. document the health conditions of patients using appropriate charting protocols. They will collect statistical data, tracking current outpatient medications and patient outcome. The Correctional Nurse will also review inmates to determine need for referrals or assessment.

Requirements

• Possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently.
• Ability to consult with Correctional Nurse 3 on a regular basis.
