About The Position
The Correctional Counselor I position is responsible for supporting the rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates within the correctional system. Under the supervision of the Correctional Counselor II, this role involves handling inmate requests, preparing legal documentation, supervising inmate visits, and maintaining communication with outside agencies. The counselor will also conduct interviews, process trust withdrawals, and provide counseling on personal and institutional issues, contributing to the overall mission of public safety and successful community reintegration.
