About The Position

This is an entry-level position under general supervision, functioning as a member of a unit team that provides essential services to an assigned caseload of offenders living in the unit. The role involves inmate counseling, treatment services, developing case histories, providing security, and acting as a role model for the offender population. Responsibilities also include recommending crime-specific programs, addiction services, and re-entry preparation, along with performing other duties as required.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, corrections, psychology, sociology, counseling, criminology, social work, education, therapeutic recreation, or a closely related field
  • Experience in corrections or related fields may substitute for the required training on a year-for-year basis

Benefits

  • Minimum hiring rate of $37,862
  • $5,000 added to the minimum starting rate of pay for all classifications within a Critical Vacancy Pay Supplemental Facility
  • Annual base building pay differential of $250 after completing one year of service
