What You'll Do: Oversee and evaluate all phases of unit program. Develop guidelines and procedures for activities and operations and supervise or monitor unit staff. Provides training and support and evaluates new unit management staff. Provides quality assurance for all reports, intake tools, classification actions, case plans and various release planning functions. Ensures core programs are continuously offered to meet the needs of the of-fender population Developments and reviews new programs of all submitted assessment packets for completeness, needs and compliance in accordance to departmental policy. Serves as the coordinator for reentry services and programs in assigned institution Monitors reentry services and processes from the beginning until the end of the incarcerated individuals sentence Presents information to staff and incarcerated individuals during orientation regarding reentry Develops and maintains contacts with services and resources in the community to assist with their transition back to the community Coordinates reentry volunteers and recruits mentors; facilitates training and orientation for the reentry volunteers and mentors. Writes reports, answers correspondence, and participates in reentry performance measures activities May be assigned investigations relating to incarcerated individuals rule infractions, use of force, and other investigations as assigned by the Managing Officer or designee. Performs other duties as assigned. NOTE: A minimum of 76 hours of unit management coverage per week per unit, will be required from unit staff, excluding secretaries and unit officers, to include late nights and weekends. In order to achieve 76 hours of coverage, the Unit Team, when developing proposed schedules, must stay within the following guidelines: There should be at least 13 hours of unit coverage Monday through Thursday There should be at least 8 hours of coverage Friday through Sunday Schedules for week day coverage (Monday-Thursday) should not begin before 7:00 AM or end before 8:00 PM Schedules for weekend coverage (Friday through Sunday) should not begin before 7:00 AM or end before 3:00 PM There will be no unit coverage provided on holidays Unit Managers should work at least 1 shift per week that ends no earlier than 8:00 PM Unit Managers should work at least one 8-hour weekend (Saturday or Sunday) shift per month Unit Managers should schedule themselves time for meaningful rounds and interaction with unit correctional officers during third shift month.
