About The Position

Clifford Power Systems, Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate for a position as a Generator Field Service Technician in the Corpus Christi area. You don’t have to be experienced in power generation to get started in this industry. We offer training that can take someone with a good understanding of how things work and build them into a Generator Technician. What people need is an understanding of combustion engines, our products are typically driven by Diesel, Natural Gas, or Propane engines. You also need an understanding of Electricity. We work with a wide range of A/C power like 120/240v single phase or 277/480v three phase. We also work with D/C controls ranging from 12v to 24v. Last but not least, we use a laptop to interface with controls software. This position will report to the San Antonio office.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• 2 years of experience with diesel and/or natural gas engines, generators, and automatic transfer switches
• Valid Driver's License
• Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge
• Motivated to participate in training to increase generator knowledge
• Common hand tools and electrical meter required to perform troubleshooting, repair and maintenance

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service above and beyond the customer’s expectations
• Troubleshoot and diagnose engine and electrical repairs on power generation equipment (engine-driven generators and automatic transfer switches)
• Perform work on power generation equipment located at customer sites, or occasional work at our local shop
• Use safe practices with operation of service truck
• Perform preventive maintenance on power generation equipment
• Perform start-ups on new power generation equipment
• Perform warranty work on power generation equipment
• Process required paperwork and electronic submissions within deadlines
• Maintain parts inventory of service truck
• Participate in the rotating responsibility of a 24/7 on-call technician rotation
