About The Position

The Corps Ministry Intern will gain well-rounded experience in The Salvation Army's ministry and mission, with duties adjusted based on seasonal needs, training focus, and local priorities-helping prepare them for future Officer Training.

Requirements

Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency.
Must have at least three to four years of experience related to ministry
Must have a solid understanding of The Salvation Army's mission, values, and structure
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint
Willingness to learn new software as needed
Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
Current First Aid, CPR, and AED, or ability to obtain within 45 days.
Must have a valid driver's license
Must apply to Officer Training in the upcoming year

Responsibilities

Participate in worship and Christian education programs (Sunday School, Bible Studies, Corps Cadets, Small Groups, etc.), including assisting with planning, leading elements as assigned, preaching or teaching under supervision, and supporting ongoing volunteer leadership
Support the development of The Kroc Center programming, worship arts, music initiatives, and special events (day camps, outreach)
Represent The Kroc Center at community events (service clubs, school functions, ministerial associations, etc.), including assisting with outreach presence, liaison duties, and follow-up engagement
Participate in and help coordinate community center, social service, and core corps programs, supporting program delivery, volunteer management, and participant interaction
Assist with seasonal programs and special events (Christmas, summer camping, holiday outreaches), aiding in planning, logistics, communications, and on-site execution
Join in pastoral and evangelistic ministries, including attendance at Pastoral Care Council, Corps Council, and Youth/Adult Planning Committees, providing research, preparatory support, and follow-up work
Assist with property upkeep and facility preparation for programming, setting up spaces, arranging equipment, ensuring cleanliness, and readiness
Be aware of The Kroc Center's financial goals by assisting in budget awareness, helping with fundraising events, and performing donor or logistical tasks
Perform other duties as assigned

The accrual rate is based upon years of service and approved hours worked.
