We are seeking an experienced accounting professional for the position of Corporate Accounting Manager. This hybrid role is based in Shelton, CT, with four days onsite and one remote each week, and reports to the Manager of Technical Accounting and Special Projects. The position will support senior and business unit management by providing global technical accounting guidance for a variety of transactions. Additionally, this individual will assist on various SEC reporting and corporate accounting initiatives and projects.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of work experience with large active public company or Big 4 Public Accounting experience.
  • CPA required.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills/ability to work with others.
  • Attention to detail; excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on various accounting issues, including revenue recognition, leasing transactions, debt refinancing, acquisitions and dispositions, financial reporting and other corporate transactions.
  • Document research findings and prepare accounting analysis and present the results to management.
  • Research and analyze emerging accounting issues from the SEC, FASB and other regulatory bodies and assist with the adoption of new standards.
  • Maintain relationships with business partners to ensure early identification of transactions that could have accounting/reporting impacts.
  • Assist the SEC Reporting Team with preparation of required periodic filings.
  • Support the Consolidations team during monthly close process.
  • Interact with external auditors on audit and accounting matters.
