About The Position

We are seeking a Corporate Tax Senior Manager to join our corporate tax practice in Chicago, IL. This role will lead client engagements across business income tax planning, compliance, and ASC 740 income tax accounting (tax provision preparation or audit support). As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for managing multiple client relationships, driving business development, and mentoring tax professionals with a clear career growth pathway toward Partner or Managing Director. This position offers a collaborative environment, strong cross-office support, flexible work hours, and the opportunity to expand your leadership while supporting large, multi-state, national, and global companies.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting (Masters in Taxation, LLM, or JD preferred).
  • Active CPA or JD license required.
  • 7+ years of progressive corporate tax compliance and consulting experience.
  • Provision (ASC 740) expertise required.
  • Recent public accounting experience within a Top 15 accounting firm .
  • Strong background supporting large, multi-state/national/global companies.
  • Current Manager/Senior Manager level experience with proven business development metrics achieved.
  • Proficiency in corporate income tax laws, US GAAP, and ONESOURCE Tax Provision.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multiple engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple client service teams on corporate tax engagements, including planning, executing, and completing projects across various industries.
  • Provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise; design and implement strategies to optimize client outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, building and maintaining strong long-term relationships.
  • Drive business development through networking, sales, and revenue generation; meet or exceed established metrics and goals.
  • Manage engagement economics including realization, utilization, leverage, and expenses.
  • Conduct primary and secondary review of complex corporate tax returns and ASC 740 provisions.
  • Research and consult on complex tax issues including state/local, international, and transfer pricing.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate performance of staff, senior associates, and managers.
  • Participate in professional development programs and industry events to strengthen your technical and leadership profile.
  • Uphold the highest degree of professional standards and client confidentiality.
