Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field that provides the analytical and business acumen to excel in a dynamic tax environment
  • 0-5 Years corporate income tax compliance and accounting experience that demonstrates your ability to navigate complex tax regulations—whether gained as an intern or staff through consulting firms, or a corporate tax department that highlight your commitment to tax excellence.
  • Experience with leading tax technology and business platforms such as Vertex, OneSource Tax Compliance, and professional tax research tools (Checkpoint, BNA, or similar) along with Microsoft products (excel, teams, word)

  • CPA certification achieved or in progress, or pursuing/completed master’s degree in taxation, Accounting, or Finance

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of federal, state, and local income tax returns, tax estimates, extensions, and forward-looking tax forecasting that directly influences executive decision-making and business strategy.
  • Drive quarterly and year-end tax accounting processes by developing detailed analytical workpapers, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with audit process to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated tax fixed asset depreciation systems and analytical reports that allow for continual analysis to optimize depreciation strategies and ensure compliance accuracy.
  • Champion departmental digitalization initiatives by identifying automation opportunities, streamlining manual processes, and maximizing technology resources to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with senior tax professionals to manage complex tax reporting, including sales/use tax, VAT compliance, property tax filings, and unclaimed property regulations while coordinating with external service providers.
  • Assist with transfer pricing analysis and monitoring for international affiliate transactions, ensuring compliance with global tax regulations and supporting Covestro's worldwide operations.
