About The Position

If you said yes to any of the above, we have the perfect opportunity for you! As an Intern at KEEN (KEENtern), you’ll dive into the exciting world of footwear, innovation, and community! You’ll get hands-on experience working alongside industry experts and contribute to shaping the future of KEEN. The KEEN Effect is the result of KEEN’s values in action. The KEEN Effect team is the social and environmental impact arm of KEEN, working to shepherd KEEN’s values throughout our organization and supply chain. The team works cross-functionally, collaborating regularly with Supply Chain, Product & Materials, Logistics, and more. The Sustainability Intern will report to the Sr. Director and will help measure and manage KEEN’s impact. This role will play a large role in organizing and reporting data, including sustainable product attributes and helping visualize progress across the KEEN Effect portfolio.

Requirements

  • Be a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student
  • Be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Commit to a 10-week program from mid-June through mid-August
  • Dedicate 40 hours per week during standard M-F, PST working hours
  • All roles are located in Portland, OR. Must be able to move to Portland during the duration of the internship if you are not already living here.
  • Plan no more than four total days of vacation during the internship
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials.
  • Must display curiosity, have strong organizational and prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop data-visualization dashboards to track progress across key sustainability areas including climate, circularity metrics, and green chemistry.
  • Clean and organize datasets from multiple sources to improve data structure and visibility
  • Translate sustainability data into clear, intuitive dashboard visualizations that effectively communicate impact
  • Support KEEN Effect portfolio progress tracking through robust data visualization tools
  • Coordinate with social and creative teams to produce and share KEEN effect related content.
  • Assist with production if in-person and virtual KEEN Effect events as needed.
  • Support miscellaneous administrative duties as needed
