Job Summary As a Corporate Sourcing Manager, you will report directly to the Vice President of Operations and will be responsible for leading companywide sourcing initiatives and activities. You will oversee Supply Chain Management’s involvement in new product development, strategic sourcing, and cost-reduction projects to support organizational objectives. You'll develop and recommend corporate sourcing strategies and, upon senior leadership approval, drive execution across the organization. Responsibilities include organizing and implementing product phase-in and phase-out plans to support product launches, discontinuations, and revisions, while ensuring accurate manufacturing Bills of Material and maintaining appropriate inventory levels. Domestic and international travel is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with 3–5 years of Supply Chain Management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment when interacting internally and externally.
  • Proven leadership and management capabilities, with strengths in team development, strategic thinking, organization, and execution.
  • Strong background in purchasing, supplier negotiations, cost management, and project leadership.
  • Analytical and solution-oriented mindset with demonstrated success in decision-making and complex problem-solving.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing Bills of Material (BOMs).
  • Working knowledge of Total Quality Management (TQM) principles, manufacturing safety standards, and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or master’s degree in supply chain management preferred.
  • CPSM certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance across all levels of Supply Chain Management, ensuring consistent application of standard procedures while exercising sound judgment in complex or non-routine situations.
  • Lead and oversee corporate sourcing and procurement operations, including planning, organizing, directing, and controlling related activities.
  • Drive companywide sourcing and cost-reduction initiatives by collaborating with divisional buyers, supply chain supervisors, and managers through strong cross-functional partnerships. Offer direction and support to divisions as needed.
  • Partner with Marketing, Engineering, Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, and SCM teams across all locations to support new product development and successful product launches. Ensure supply chain deliverables for corporate projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Serve as the functional subject matter expert for strategic sourcing. Represent Supply Chain Management in cross-functional meetings, task forces, and enterprise initiatives to ensure alignment and project success.
  • Lead supplier negotiations for new procurements and pricing revisions, securing competitive agreements that align with company objectives.
  • Conduct in-depth research to understand sourcing requirements and identify opportunities to improve cost, quality, and supply continuity. Manage and optimize the supplier base by identifying, qualifying, and developing new suppliers, while consolidating where appropriate. Collaborate closely with the Director of Corporate Supply Chain on strategic supplier opportunities.
  • Oversee daily Corporate Sourcing operations, including buying, planning, and quoting activities. Lead hiring, development, and performance management of purchasing personnel while balancing workloads and strengthening team capabilities.
  • Travel throughout North America (U.S., Canada, and Mexico) to evaluate and qualify suppliers, build strategic relationships, review operations, troubleshoot issues, and assess manufacturing capabilities.
  • Partner with suppliers to implement Total Quality Management (TQM) initiatives that improve manufacturing processes, product consistency, and cost efficiency. Support Quality Assurance efforts by addressing material discrepancies and non-conformances. Collaborate with Engineering and QA to develop and enhance supplier quality programs, with a proactive focus on defect prevention.
  • Implement modern inventory management strategies (e.g., JIT, Kanban) with suppliers to improve efficiency and reduce carrying costs. Evaluate supplier performance companywide, track and report monthly metrics, provide improvement feedback, and escalate critical concerns to leadership when necessary.
  • Control purchased material costs through negotiations, cost targets, make-versus-buy analysis, process improvements, design changes, and material substitutions. Collaborate with the Corporate Production Control Manager to establish annual corporate and BLA inventory goals.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, working with the Director of Corporate Supply Chain for review and approval. Administer annual tooling inventories and vendor-managed inventory programs.
  • Support Customer Service by providing timely and accurate information related to material specifications and delivery timelines, contributing to improvements in Distributor Satisfaction Index performance. Resolve internal and external issues professionally and ethically, protecting the company’s long-term interests.
  • Serve as backup to the Corporate Production Control Manager, assuming responsibility for essential duties as required.
