Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration with emphasis on Accounting.
  • Eight or more (8+) years of revenue cycle analytical experience with hospital systems. Inclusive of aforementioned length of experience, two or more (2+) years of experience as a lead or manager.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and ability to prepare financial statements and models.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and comprehension skills, including the ability to clearly explain complex analytical topics to a wide audience. Ability to collaborate across related organizations and departments.

  • Contract negotiation experience and experience with Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and performance metrics, financial systems and processes. Demonstrated ability to direct process improvement initiatives with successful results.
  • Excel skills (v-lookups, sumif, sumproduct, indirect, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge with Lawson system and ERP systems (i.e., EPIC/Meditech)
  • Proficient in business software applications, i.e., Microsoft Excel, Word, SQL, Access, and PowerBI.
  • Excellent understanding of financial system integration, master database management, data mining and reporting, etc.
  • Certified Public Accountant, MBA or Master’s Degree
  • PMP certification not required but preferred.
  • Public accounting (audit) experience, 10Q/K reporting experience, and strong knowledge of GAAP –Highly Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Revenue Cycle, Business Office, and Decision Support in analyzing and monitoring the valuation of patient accounts receivables and credit balances for all hospitals and physician groups.
  • Oversee the development, enhancement, and continuous standardization of the AR valuation models and process, assuring proper controls are in place to accurately estimate AR.
  • Oversee and coach Analysts, Leads, Managers on the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Manage the preparation and distribution of monthly reporting, maintaining the highest quality, reliability, and accuracy.
  • Manage the coordination of annual audit and quarterly review activities of external auditors.
  • Manage the preparation of related footnote disclosures for financial statements.
  • Ensure effective coordination with hospital Controllers, CFO’s and Business Office with the annual financial audit of the Revenue Cycle Process.
  • Support month end and year end closing, as well as monthly review process.
  • Identify process improvements to enhance financial reporting.
  • Oversee data analysis to advise corporate management staff better ways to improve patient revenue.
  • Provide support to other departments, such as Legal and Contracting, as it relates to open balances on patient claims and calculating reimbursement rates for Contracting negotiations.
  • Develop or enhance training materials, memos, policies & procedures utilized by Corporate Finance.
  • Recognizes and promotes the importance of transformation, process improvement, balancing enterprise, and reduce the variations.
  • Other related duties and ad hoc/special projects, as needed.

  • A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $81,702.40 to $133,099.20 on an annualized basis.
  • The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
