The Corporate Security and Safety Manager is responsible for providing effective security and safety management services for all regional and field employees. This role involves applying in-depth knowledge of security and safety laws, regulations, and standards, as well as Hertz policies and procedures. The manager will advise and assist staff on security and safety matters, coordinate investigations, and represent the company in legal matters. The position requires proactive engagement in safety evaluations, training programs, and collaboration with law enforcement and internal departments to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Provide effective security and safety management services for all region and field employees.
  • Advise and assist region staff and field employees on security and safety matters.
  • Coordinate investigations with law enforcement and prosecutors as needed.
  • Attend criminal and civil court to assist in the apprehension and prosecution of offenders.
  • Conduct security surveys at Rent A Car and agency locations and furnish reports to management.
  • Evaluate location safety programs and develop corrective action plans.
  • Conduct monthly location safety evaluations and assist in safety requirements at location startups.
  • Liaison with internal departments and external organizations regarding security and safety matters.
  • Promote and administer the Division Safety Incentive Program.
  • Develop personal skills through ongoing training and participate in relevant meetings and conferences.
  • Monitor theft reports to identify trends and take corrective action, including on-site investigations.
  • Provide training programs for new hires and conduct presentations on fraud training and safety awareness.
  • Participate in planning new facilities, suggesting security hardware and procedures, and identifying potential safety hazards.
  • Make unannounced visits to locations to evaluate security and safety best practices.
  • Investigate incidents of violence and ensure local management takes necessary precautions during labor unrest.
  • At least 20 years of law enforcement experience with a concentration in criminal investigations.
  • Strong consideration for candidates with OSHA 10 certificates; must be willing to obtain OSHA 10 certification within the first 4 months of employment.
  • Knowledge of investigations in criminal and civil matters and the ability to testify in court.
  • Ability to analyze criminal cases and make appropriate decisions.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to present findings to management and law enforcement.
  • Strong problem analysis and resolution skills at both strategic and functional levels.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio.
  • Familiarity with closed circuit television and alarm systems, as well as building access control systems.
  • Experienced in interview and interrogation techniques.
  • Strong team player with experience in high-performance teams.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
