About Makom Makom is a Maryland-based non-profit providing services for adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) in Maryland and Northern Virginia. For over 40 years, Makom has delivered innovative, person-centered services through community living supports, transition-focused employment programs, and supplemental clinical and experiential services, all through a self-determined lens. The Role The Corporate Relations Manager builds and sustains strategic relationships with corporate partners and small businesses to advance Makom’s mission. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this role works closely with the MOST (Meaningful Opportunities for Skills Training) program to create inclusive employment pathways while supporting fundraising and organizational growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3–5 years in nonprofit development, corporate relations, or workforce partnerships
  • Proven success in building employer and donor relationships
  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Experience serving individuals facing barriers to employment
  • Knowledge of the DMV nonprofit and corporate landscape
  • CRM and fundraising systems experience

Responsibilities

  • Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with corporations, small businesses, and employers
  • Position Makom as a trusted CSR and workforce development partner
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Makom and corporate partners
  • Secure donations, sponsorships, and in-kind support
  • Collaborate on proposals, stewardship, and fundraising strategies
  • Support grant and sponsorship initiatives
  • Partner with MOST leadership to understand participant needs
  • Secure internships, job shadowing, apprenticeships, and employment
  • Support job placement and retention
  • Maintain strong partner relationships
  • Share impact stories and metrics
  • Coordinate employer engagement activities
  • Develop annual corporate relations plans
  • Track outcomes in CRM systems
  • Prepare leadership reports
  • Collaborate across Development, MOST, Marketing, and Leadership teams
