About The Position

The Corporate Relations Manager will lead efforts to develop and implement a corporate fundraising strategy to increase corporate giving (e.g., grants; employee resource groups) and in-kind support. This will include managing a pool of corporate partners and developing new relationships with prospective corporations and businesses, creating touchpoints and revenue that drives corporate engagement across Good Shepherd Services (GSS). Finally, this position will manage a portfolio of corporate foundations that provide GSS with grants that support our programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • 2-4 years of experience working in corporate fundraising within a nonprofit setting AND/OR 1-3 years of experience working in corporate philanthropy for a business or corporation.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, and comfort in communicating (orally and verbally) with a range stakeholders who have diverse experiences
  • Comfortable representing the organization and confidently presenting its mission and impact to external audiences.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to motivate and to take initiative as a self-starter, working both independently and collaboratively
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint), internet browsers, and fundraising databases (Salesforce preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive corporate fundraising plan to ensure continued growth of different streams of corporate revenue and in-kind support that support GSS wide array of programs and services.
  • Maintain a portfolio of existing corporate partners, with responsibility for supporting all aspects of corporate giving, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with new corporations and businesses, with the goal of increasing different corporate revenue streams (e.g., corporate grants) and employee volunteer opportunities.
  • Build and sustain strong professional relationships with key external stakeholders and decision-makers at corporate partners and steward the relationship to increase corporate fundraising at GSS.
  • Preparing fundraising and partnership solicitation materials, gift agreements, and presentation materials.
  • Attend GSS fundraising or donor-related events to help manage and steward corporate partner relationships.
  • Attend events hosted by corporations and businesses to serve as an ambassador for GSS.
  • Partner with staff across GSS to promote corporate engagement efforts across agency programs and projects, including mentoring opportunities, corporate sponsorships, employee giving programs, and in-kind initiatives.
  • In partnership with the Vice President of Foundation and Corporate Relations, develop and track yearly goals around corporate fundraising and corporate employee engagement opportunities.
  • Identify key GSS program and support staff members that need to be involved in all aspects of corporate fundraising and engagement activities.
  • Partner with GSS development department (e.g., Grants team; external relations) and program staff to develop and implement a process to effectively share information around all corporate engagement touch points s to drive revenue and streamline operations and partnership opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in relation to supporting GSS development department and corporate and foundation fundraising efforts.
