About The Position

Polynt Composites USA is a global leader in the manufacturing of composites, coatings, and chemical intermediates, serving key industries such as industrial, transportation, construction, marine, medical, and consumer goods. The Corporate Quality Engineer is responsible for driving the Polynt Quality Systems by interfacing with customers on quality issues and initiatives, improving production quality, evaluating and configuring manufacturing processes to reduce cycle time, increasing capacity, and improving efficiency. Analyze and evaluate current processes and procedures along the entire production process ensuring there is consistency and adherence with recipes, procedures, and equipment to deliver consistent batch-to-batch production. Support plants in identifying and correcting process deviations beyond acceptable limits, working with plant and corporate technical resources and within the established MOC and Quality System framework, supporting incident/near miss investigations, root cause, etc. Quality management support for key customers and interface with customers and suppliers to ensure strong relationships are built and maintained. Analyze current processes and efficiency parameters, and executes work plans to improve process capability, identify critical infrastructure for debottlenecking, capacity increases and downtime reduction. Contribute to the development and execution of TQM programs and initiatives. Includes internal auditing, gauge R&R’s, gap analysis, corrective actions, summarizing and presenting results. Applies and leads process improvement using tools including 6-Sigma, SPC, Root Cause Analysis and Lean Mfg. Develops and documents critical processes (Process Flow Diagrams) to identify improvement opportunities. Travels to sites to conduct audits, support production issues, improvement plants, training, or any other items as needed. Expected travel is about 15%. Execute Corporate Initiatives and follows up with sites to ensure or assist with compliance: down time/cycle time initiatives, GOP/SOP updates/creation, quality tracking initiatives, audits, training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or other related science required.
  • Four years supporting process engineering and/or quality in a chemical processing environment or comparable field.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills. Fluency in English.
  • Experience with customer interactions and support.
  • Analytical, problem solving, data analysis and information gathering skills.
  • Application of mathematical/engineering methods to solve problems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Lean / Six Sigma
  • Working knowledge of SAP, MS Office, and Minitab statistical software.
