About The Position

The Corporate Process Engineer is responsible for applying chemical engineering principles to design, optimize, and troubleshoot chemical manufacturing processes. This position ensures processes operate efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively to produce high-quality products across all AOC North America plants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (BSChE, BSME, or BSEE) from an ABET-accredited institution
  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • 2+ years in process engineering or supervising front-line operations
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office and computer systems
  • Excellent communication, organization and project management skills
  • Ability to think analytically and problem-solve
  • Must be able to work independently under general direction
  • Willing and able to travel 20% annually; PPE required in Plant Environments
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • CAD software experience preferred
  • Experience with QlikView, PowerBi, Tableau or similar preferred
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, PSM, and EHS preferred
  • Direct management or experience leading engineering teams preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve chemical manufacturing processes, focusing on product quality, yield, safety, and cost reduction.
  • Utilize analytical tools, statistical methods, and Lean methodologies (DMAIC) to monitor performance, analyze process data, and implement robust process improvements.
  • Analyze process efficiency and identify optimization opportunities, including energy and raw material usage; Recommend process changes or equipment upgrades to enhance sustainability and lower costs.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to plant operations teams to resolve process issues and maintain stable production.
  • Develop deep understanding of raw materials, chemical reactions, equipment operation, control systems, and quality control methods.
  • Assist plant engineers in adjusting process parameters and implementing best practices.
  • Collaborate on refining QC methods to ensure they accurately predict product quality.
  • Support new product introductions (NPI) and process scale-up activities at manufacturing sites.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and training materials for new or modified processes, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Conduct process capability audits and contribute to internal site audits related to optimization efforts.
  • Participate in Process Safety Management (PSM) activities as required.
  • Coordinate improvement efforts with corporate functions (Quality, R&D, Automation) and plant teams.
  • Participate in capital projects, providing process engineering input and supporting commissioning.
  • Assist in developing and mentoring junior engineers.
