About The Position

The Corporate Policy Officer/COMSEC Auditor at NSA is responsible for researching, developing, and interpreting policies that guide behavior and support mission objectives, particularly in the realm of Communications Security (COMSEC). This role involves advocating for NSA policy positions, advising senior leadership, and ensuring compliance with national and NSA standards through audits. The position requires travel both domestically and internationally to perform audits and provide policy expertise to various NSA accounts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a Writing or Policy related field preferred, or any degree acceptable
  • 3 years of relevant experience for Full Performance entry, or 1 year with a Master's degree, or no experience with a Doctoral degree
  • 7 years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or GED, or 5 years with an Associate's degree
  • 6 years of relevant experience for Senior entry, or 4 years with a Master's degree, or 2 years with a Doctoral degree
  • 10 years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or GED, or 8 years with an Associate's degree
  • Relevant experience must be in policy-related work within the government or as a government contractor

Responsibilities

  • Researching and developing policies that guide behavior and support mission objectives
  • Interpreting, reviewing, and coordinating Intelligence Community (IC), Department of Defense (DoD), and National policies affecting NSA activities
  • Recommending official NSA positions on policies to senior leadership
  • Advocating, promoting, and coordinating NSA policy positions with counterparts in the IC, DoD, and other Executive Branch agencies
  • Advising senior leadership in the establishment of agreements with mission partners
  • Providing policy expertise to 1700 NSA Central Office of Record COMSEC accounts
  • Conducting audits to ensure COMSEC accounts are compliant with national and NSA policies
  • Communicating with COMSEC Account personnel before, during, and after the audit
  • Authoring formal COMSEC Audit reports upon completion of the audit
  • Traveling in the US and overseas for approximately 8 weeks per year
