About The Position

HII is currently looking for a Corporate Manager, Technical Accounting and Sox Compliance. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Technical Accounting & SOX Compliance, this positions' primary responsibility is serving as the enterprise-wide Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance manager. Additional responsibilities include supporting the technical accounting function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; Master’s Degree and 4 years of relevant experience

  • Experience with SOX requirements and internal control assessments

Responsibilities

  • Manage the enterprise-wide SOX compliance program covering the Company’s internal control over financial reporting, including preparation of the annual SOX compliance plan and risk assessment
  • Act as the primary point of contact for SOX compliance matters across the Company, maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with the business divisions, corporate departments, and both internal and external auditors
  • Manage the SOX compliance reporting process, which includes leading SOX compliance status meetings, assessing control deficiencies, and monitoring remediation plans
  • Provide upper management timely SOX status updates
  • Maintain the company’s SOX compliance tracking and reporting tool
  • Serve as SOX subject matter expert by providing guidance and best practices regarding control design, implementation, deficiency assessment, and remediation plans
  • Oversee the development and implementation of controls related to new accounting standards, transactions, processes, and systems.
  • Manage and coordinate the process for service organization control reports
  • Monitor the standard setting and rule making activities at the FASB and SEC
  • Participate in U.S. GAAP accounting and SEC reporting consultations by researching, analyzing, communicating, and documenting U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements and conclusions
  • Prepare quarterly department memos, including those related to control deficiencies, impairment indicators, materiality assessments, and related party transactions
  • Participate in the implementation of new U.S. GAAP accounting standards and SEC reporting requirements
  • Review draft SEC filings and provide input into applicable footnote disclosures, including those related to new accounting standards and the Company’s accounting policies.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects in support of management initiatives
