About The Position

The Corporate Manager of Retail Operations leads retail execution and the full-service brokerage strategy for Hormel. This role drives in-store execution ROI through consistent measurement, data-driven insights, and operational excellence. A team of 5 Retail Zone Managers reports to this position, along with an extended network of broker partners to ensure flawless retail execution and measurable sales impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years in retail operations, execution, or field sales within CPG (food industry strongly preferred).
  • Proven leadership experience managing multi-level teams and third-party partners.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret retail data and drive actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% nationally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead & Inspire team of 5 Retail Zone Managers, fostering accountability and high performance.
  • Manage retail execution and full-service brokerage strategy to streamline processes and deliver retail business division plan.
  • Manage annual operating plan (AOP) for retail execution and full-service brokerage
  • Manage broker commission structure that fosters strong partnerships and achieves Hormel’s business results.
  • Evaluate broker network effectiveness and manage structural changes as agreed by leadership.
  • Align broker partners on execution priorities and labor strategies to maximize in-store impact, while staying within AOP budget.
  • Implement merchandising standards, measurement, and rally resources around tentpole promotional programs nationally.
  • Partner with sales leadership, marketing, and category teams to translate strategy into actionable retail programs, including point of purchase display planning.
  • Coach sales managers to negotiate broker contracts and managing KPIs to ensure accountability.
