About The Position

The role provides high-level administrative and substantive support for the corporate legal department including, invoicing, contracts, claims, compliance (e.g., state registrations and licenses), litigation, and project-specific legal work. This role is primarily office-based with occasional travel to job sites, office locations, or meetings as required. Company Overview With roots dating to 1891 and 8,500+ employees, MYR Group Inc. Requirements

  • 2 to 4 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, or in a professional administrative role including work within a law firm, corporate legal department or related professional setting
  • High school diploma required
  • Strong organizational and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with legal and business teams
  • High integrity and ability to handle confidential information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple matters under tight deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint), Adobe Acrobat, and document management/matter management systems
  • Familiarity with litigation support, e-discovery workflow, and document management

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in construction or similar industry preferred
  • Experience with contract databases and e-billing platforms preferred
  • Prior exposure to corporate governance matters and contract risk assessment
  • Experience working with field project teams, procurement, risk management, and insurance/bonding processes
  • Associate degree, bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

  • Process invoices from outside counsel and other vendors, and track legal spend
  • Support corporate compliance and regulatory matters related to the electrical construction industry, including the acquisition and maintenance of state registrations and licenses
  • Intake contract review requests, route contracts for approval, and maintain master contract database
  • Assist attorneys with claims, disputes, and litigation
  • Prepare and maintain corporate governance records, board/committee materials, minutes, and corporate filings as needed
  • Maintain matter management system and legal files (electronic and physical); create and run reports on matters, deadlines, and budgets
  • Assist with legal research, memos, and standard templates
  • Coordinate internal and external communications: schedule meetings, prepare agendas, compile materials, and follow up on action items
  • Calendar deadlines, meetings, travel plans, and other appointments on behalf of attorneys
  • Other duties as assigned

Benefits

  • Salary $50,000-$60,000 / year
  • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
