This position is not sponsorship eligible. As a Data Governance Intern, you’ll play a key role in managing and protecting the organization’s data assets. You’ll collaborate with teams across the bank to ensure data is accurate, secure, and compliant with regulatory standards. This internship offers the opportunity to learn how enterprise data is structured, governed, and leveraged to make business decisions—all while developing foundational skills in data management and risk oversight.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a Associates or Bachelor's degree program (sophomore, junior, or senior standing).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Interest in data management, information systems, or risk management.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with data management tools, data governance concepts, or regulatory compliance.
  • Coursework or experience in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and maintain metadata about corporate data assets to ensure accuracy and adherence to governance standards.
  • Partner with business, legal, compliance, IT, and data owners to reinforce data governance principles and accountability.
  • Monitor and log data quality issues, supporting remediation and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with risk and compliance teams to align practices with data protection, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in preparing reports and metrics that track governance performance and program progress.
  • Support documentation of data lineage to ensure transparency and traceability of data flows.
  • Contribute ideas for optimizing data practices that improve efficiency, accuracy, and security.
