About The Position

Navient’s Corporate Finance team supports the company’s asset‑backed securitization (ABS) program and key functions including Capital Markets, Treasury, and Trust Reporting. We’re hiring a Corporate Finance Technical Analyst to support these functions. This role supports data, modeling, and reporting workflows for ABS transactions and broader Corporate Finance activities. Responsibilities will vary based on experience and may include executing established processes or taking on more independent analytical and technical work. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree- Mathematics, MIS, Statistics, or Computer Science (Other fields of study may be considered with relevant experience). Additional experience may substitute.
  • Experience with financial modeling/analysis.
  • Experience with SQL, Excel, VBA, Access, and SAS in production or project environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with statistical and modeling skills.
  • Exposure to PowerBI or other reporting/business intelligence tools.
  • Experience with Hadoop, Snowflake, and/or Oracle database systems.
  • Coursework or certification in SAS programming, Advanced Excel (including Power Query/Power Pivot), or Data Warehousing.
  • Analytical, problem‑solving, and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, maintain, validate, and troubleshoot datasets that support financial models, transaction analysis, and reporting activities.
  • Compile and analyze portfolio‑level data from internal systems and external sources for ABS transactions and ongoing surveillance.
  • Perform data reconciliation and validation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of inputs.
  • Use tools such as SQL, Excel/VBA, Access, and SAS to support data extraction, analysis, modeling, and reporting workflows.
  • Execute recurring and ad hoc analytical requests following established processes and analytical standards.
  • Support enhancements to existing tools and reports, including testing, validation, and documentation.
  • Assist with or lead (based on experience) efforts to modernize legacy workflows by improving automation, scalability, and controls.
  • Partner with Corporate Finance, Accounting, Credit Risk, Treasury, Operations, and other stakeholders to support data‑driven initiatives.
  • Communicate data issues, findings, assumptions, and limitations clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Contribute to process improvement discussions and support implementation of cross-functional changes.
  • Prepare summaries, documentation, and supporting materials for management review and decision-making.
  • Maintain documentation of data sources, assumptions, processes, and controls to support auditability and continuity.
