About The Position

Gray Media, or Gray, is a multimedia company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. The company is the nation's largest owner of top-rated local television stations and digital assets, serving 113 television markets that collectively reach approximately 36 percent of US television households. Its portfolio includes 77 markets with the top-rated television station and 100 markets with the first and/or second-highest-rated television station, as well as the largest Telemundo Affiliate group with 45 markets. Gray also owns Gray Digital Media, a full-service digital agency, and additional media properties such as video production companies Raycom Sports, Tupelo Media Group, and PowerNation Studios, and studio production facilities Assembly Atlanta and Third Rail Studios. The Director of Employee Relations will engage with employees and leaders cross-functionally in multiple locations. This individual will serve as a strategic advisor and business partner, leading, executing, and enhancing existing employment practices and workplace policies, while maintaining compliance and improving employee relations.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience leading a wide variety of employee investigations and significant employee relations expertise
  • Minimum of 7 years of People (HR) experience with at least 5 to 7 years specifically within Employee Relations
  • Advanced understanding of employment and HR related laws and regulations
  • Builds strong partnerships and demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively, lead and influence at all levels within the organization, and can make decisions while keeping all partners and leaders informed
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to reason and compromise
  • Excellent strategic decision-making, problem-solving, and critical thinking
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential matters with compassion while exhibiting exceptional professionalism and tact
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, independently, and collaboratively to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment
  • Uphold the company’s policies, principles, protocols, and guidance
