About The Position

The Director of Revenue Management is responsible for leading the strategic direction, execution, and oversight of revenue management practices across the hotel portfolio. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management, this role ensures optimal business mix, maximizes profitability, and drives market share growth through advanced forecasting, yield management, and competitive analysis. This position requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of hotel operations, and expertise in yield and inventory management. The Director of Revenue Management will monitor performance daily, evaluate market trends, and provide actionable insights to property and corporate leadership.

  • Must be able to work after normal business hours and weekends, as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in hotel revenue management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

Responsibilities

  • Model professional, service-oriented behavior in all interactions with corporate leadership, property teams, and external partners.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, brand requirements, and regulatory guidelines to promote safe, efficient, and ethical operations.
  • Maintain professional certifications as required by hotel brands and industry standards, including revenue management certifications.
  • Lead the development and communication of revenue strategies to optimize business mix across transient, group, and contract segments.
  • Present and gain consensus on strategic decisions with executive leadership, demonstrating strong debate, objectivity, and influence skills.
  • Provide direction and oversight for Future Demand Strategy Analysis (FDSA), establishing and communicating sales strategies for daily, weekly, monthly, and rolling 12-month horizons.
  • Oversee yield management decisions across the portfolio, ensuring CRS/GDS/PMS inventory controls are optimized for maximum profitability.
  • Direct the monitoring of availability and allotment calendars, ensuring proactive adjustments to inventory and rate strategies.
  • Evaluate prior-day performance, including sell-out analysis and oversell decisions, to refine future strategies.
  • Ensure group cut-off dates, block pickups, and extensions are strategically managed to balance group and transient demand.
  • Provide executive-level analysis of hotel performance versus potential, identifying opportunities for revenue growth.
  • Lead the review of CRS daily wrap-up reports, denial reports, and call conversion metrics, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Oversee the monitoring of hotel status throughout the day, directing inventory control adjustments during high-demand periods.
  • Ensure accuracy of rate quoting, restrictions, and selling approaches through periodic audits and test calls.
  • Lead monthly forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with financial objectives.
  • Play a central role in the annual budget process, providing revenue projections and strategic input to finance and operations teams.
  • Collaborate with property teams to project transient demand and evaluate performance against potential.
  • Facilitate weekly sales and revenue strategy meetings, ensuring agendas are followed and action items are executed.
  • Provide clear, timely updates to General Managers, Directors of Sales & Marketing, and corporate leadership on successes, shortfalls, and corrective strategies.
  • Deliver recaps of strategy meetings and distribute notes to executive stakeholders, ensuring accountability and follow-through.
  • Lead analysis of STR (Star) reports, identifying market share trends and recommending corrective strategies when declines occur.
  • Review reports to evaluate booking windows, sources of business, and rate competitiveness.
  • Oversee volume account production reviews with Directors of Sales, ensuring alignment with overall revenue strategy.
  • Facilitate monthly strategy meetings with property leadership to review prior performance, upcoming events, and future strategies.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by executive management, contributing to the overall success of the company’s revenue management function.
