About The Position

Corporate Development leads transactions for the world’s largest electric utility and world leader in renewable energy – NextEra Energy. The group is responsible for engaging with the investment banks and counterparties during the deal process in order to negotiate terms and structure deals for mergers or acquisitions. Corporate Development also works on corporate strategy presentations for executive leadership in conjunction with the subject matter experts around the company. In this position you lead evaluation and execution of M&A opportunities, including coordination of external financial analysis and internal diligence teams.Job OverviewEmployees in this position will play a key role in evaluating and executing M&A transactions, strategic partnerships, and capital investment opportunities within the energy and utilities industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's - Finance, Economics or Related Field
  • Experience: 2+ years in investment banking, private equity, or corporate development with energy/utilities exposure
  • Strong financial modeling, research and presentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial modeling and valuation analyses to assess acquisition targets
  • Conduct competitive and regulatory analysis to support strategic decision-making
  • Work with legal and finance teams to support due diligence and transaction execution
  • Assist in developing investment recommendations and presentations for executives
  • Track industry trends and identify potential M&A opportunities
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
