This strategy requires ongoing transformation across the enterprise. Guardian is seeking a highly analytical, execution-oriented individual to serve as Corporate Development Manager. In this high-impact role, you will help drive Guardian’s inorganic growth initiatives and help businesses forge innovative and transformative partnerships across the enterprise. As Corporate Development Manager, you will operate within Guardian’s Corporate Development team, responsible for driving inorganic growth by leading M&A, venture investments, and strategic partnerships. You will play a critical role in high-visibility initiatives across various areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Economics, Business or related field)
  • 6+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, and/or corporate development
  • Proficiency or subject matter expertise in AI and other emerging disruptive technologies
  • Strong technical skills to support financial analysis, valuation, and deal structuring
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and project management abilities
  • Ability to thrive in a lean team environment and take ownership of complex projects

Responsibilities

  • Source and evaluate acquisitions/divestitures, investments and JV opportunities aligned with Guardian’s strategic priorities
  • Lead end-to-end transaction processes, including financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, and deal structuring
  • Develop investment cases and secure approvals through Guardian’s governance process
  • Negotiate term sheets and definitive agreements in collaboration with legal and finance teams
  • Monitor portfolio of funds and direct investments
  • Collaborate with business leaders to structure and execute partnerships with early-stage companies
  • Manage, grow, and maintain a deep network of relationships with top VCs, founders, builders and other players in the venture ecosystem
  • Build and maintain relationships with investment bankers, advisors, and industry executives to stay on top of industry trends/dynamics and generate deal flow
  • Understand and bring in outside thinking across life insurance, group benefits, wealth management, and emerging disruptive technologies (including AI focused companies) to inform strategic investment and partnership decisions
  • Prepare executive-level presentations and recommendations for senior leadership and the Board
  • Represent Guardian at industry events, venture forums, and innovation summits to build brand presence and deal flow
  • Partner with business leaders and integration teams to ensure successful post-close execution and synergy realization
