About The Position

Research and prepare practical guidance and effectively communicate legal advice to inform business decisions. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and related agreements; advising stakeholders on contractual obligations and risk. Maintain proactive awareness of applicable existing and emerging regulations and agency guidance relevant to corporate operations. Incorporate regulatory requirements into corporate policies and procedures and partner with operating teams to maintain compliant practices. Monitor labor relations requirements in a unionized environment and participate in administration and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements. Prepare and coordinate required regulatory submissions and supporting documentation based on the company’s operations and services, including maintaining compliant records and responding to follow-up requests. Advise department leadership on claims and disputes, assessing liability and exposure, developing strategies for dispute resolution, and coordinating with external counsel. Support risk management programs, including reviewing and maintaining insurance coverages and coordinating with external partners to preserve coverage and support mitigation planning. Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited U.S. law school and currently admitted to practice law in at least one state.
  • Three years’ experience in aviation or a comparably heavily regulated industry performing work for the Federal Government under federal contracts.
  • Knowledge and/or experience drafting and administering collective bargaining agreements and performing organized labor negotiations.
  • Microsoft office: Word, Excel and Power Point

Nice To Haves

  • Formal credentials issued by reputable third parties, directly related to the referenced work and industries.
  • Five or more years’ experience in aviation or a comparably heavily regulated industry performing work for the Federal Government under federal contracts.
  • Knowledge of tax law related to the referenced industries desired but not required.
  • If the experience requirement is satisfied by federal contracting experience, detailed knowledge of the FARs, DFARs and other agency procurement regulations is desired.
