Why you'll love this role StockX is seeking an experienced corporate generalist to provide broad legal support across multiple teams. You’ll join a lean but mighty legal team at one of the fastest-growing e-commerce companies in the world. The ideal candidate is practical, proactive, and business-minded , comfortable working directly with stakeholders at all levels. This position will involve hands-on collaboration with teams across the company, including Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Compliance.

Requirements

  • J.D. degree and active member in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar ( Michigan bar strongly preferred ).
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a law firm or in-house legal department (experience with venture-backed, e-commerce, or technology companies is a plus).
  • Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to balance key risks and business objectives while maintaining professionalism and strong relationships.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment , supporting multiple business units with changing priorities.
  • Strong judgment and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, actionable, and business-oriented legal advice.

Nice To Haves

  • experience with venture-backed, e-commerce, or technology companies is a plus
  • Michigan bar strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including SaaS, professional services, consulting, data processing, NDAs, click-through terms, service level, and master services agreements.
  • Act as a strategic legal partner to Product, Engineering, and Design teams—advising on product development, launches, and new features to ensure compliance with applicable laws and mitigate risk.
  • Provide practical, solutions-oriented guidance to business teams on contracting, compliance, privacy, consumer protection, advertising, and promotions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders—including InfoSec, Compliance, Operations, Product, Engineering, and Finance—to drive transactions to completion and align on risk management.
  • Manage outside counsel relationships, including reviewing filings, research, and advice to ensure efficiency and consistency with company priorities.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to e-commerce, marketplaces, content moderation, and digital consumer protection, and advise business teams accordingly.
