Our Corporate Counsel (Operations and Litigation) will assist in protecting and enhancing Bright Horizon's legal and business interests. It will maintain the compliance of the Company’s organizations and operations with the law. Our Corporate Counsel will work with a multi-disciplinary team, to address and support Bright Horizon's child care field operations, incident management, litigation, employment advising and disputes, and operational licensing and other regulatory matters. It will advise and support internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, HR and operational business partners, legal counsel, governmental agencies, and clients. This Hybrid role requires in-person work (3 days a week) at our Newton, MA headquarters. Responsibilities: Provide legal advice and business support to the Company as needed in areas of compliance and governance, business development and support, human resources management, and claim and incident resolutions Provide tailored, practical and actionable legal advice, business support and overall leadership to the Company as needed with an internal and external customer service focus and based on a thorough understanding of the Company's goals, philosophy and values Provide legal and strategic support and advice to mitigate liability by identifying, analyzing, and synthesizing risks, issues and offering solutions in a fast-paced environment and in a prompt and concise manner Maintain a strong understanding of the Company's services, operations and client relationships Assist in the mitigation of risk and liability Participate on Legal Department teams handling matters of interest to the Company Responsible for drafting Company agreements, policies, procedures, guidelines and other instruments Complete special projects as requested Litigation: Manage all stages of the resolution of incidents, claims, and litigation matters including working directly with outside counsel, conducting investigations, preparing internal and external communications, maintaining attorney-client privilege, advising on legal holds, overseeing discovery, coordinating depositions, subpoena responses and witness testimony, managing case strategy, and guiding settlement negotiations aligned with legal and business strategy Develop and implement strategies for resolving disputes through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation Support the Company’s incident management and claims processes by coordinating with internal departments, such as risk management, operations, human resources, finance and compliance, to gather information, ensure thorough and objective investigations, provide legal advice and develop communication strategies and prepare timely and effective responses
