About The Position

As a member of the Riverside Research Leadership team, the Corporate Controller works closely with the CFO and collaboratively across the organization to oversee all financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting operations in support of the business. We look to our Corporate Controller to continuously drive improvement by not only anticipating internal and external reporting needs, but also to identify opportunities within Riverside to evolve the support provided to the business. This position offers a hybrid working arrangements, with four (4) days required onsite in our Fairfax, Virginia headquarters. All Riverside Research opportunities require U.S. Citizenship.

Requirements

  • CPA License
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in Government Contract Accounting
  • Demonstrated success in leading, managing and developing teams
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining timelines and quality of work
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with multiple levels of management as well as across the organization
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge and proven experience in GAAP, FAR, CAS and Not-For-Profit Accounting
  • Advanced experience in Deltek Costpoint and Business Intelligence Reporting

Nice To Haves

  • MBA a plus
  • Prior experience in a business operating environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint and TEAMS

Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Lead a team of 6 Accountants to oversee accounting functions, including the general ledger, financial close processes, and cost accounting
  • Ensure accurate and efficient transaction processing in compliance with company policies
  • Manage various external financial audits; Consolidated Financial Statement, OMB Single Audit and various DCAA Audits
  • Coordinate the preparation of Annual Form 990 Tax return, related schedules and supporting documentation for timely submission
  • Prepare the annual Incurred Cost Submission
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal tax and government reporting requirements; as well as assist with resolving any tax discrepancies.
  • Periodically, review and test Policies and Procedures to ensure conformance
  • Manage, mentor, inspire and lead the department staff to promote professional development
  • Working with the CFO, Business Unit VP’s, and Department Directors, support transformation initiatives identifying and implementing department and operating related process and system improvements to simplify, standardize and streamline accounting and financial reporting activities
