A Better Opportunity Our Corporate Communications Manager will lead Better's communications efforts with day-to-day operations, collaborating on daily tasks, monthly reporting and larger strategic goals. This role will include diverse responsibilities, with opportunities to work in internal communications and external media relations and participate in writing and growth initiatives. This is a full-time, on-site role reporting into our New York City office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5+ years of experience in communications, PR, or external relations required
  • Experience working with senior executives and managing external agencies
  • Interest in finance, tech, real estate and the homeownership space
  • Strong writing, editing and communication skills
  • Confident in managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Strong skills in social media, digital platforms and current trends
  • A dynamic, enthusiastic individual who can take both initiative and direction
  • A team player who enjoys collaboration
  • A curious mind with a strong desire to learn

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day PR operations, including agency management, media outreach, pitching, and briefing documents
  • Manage press release strategy for product launches, partnerships, executive appointments, awards, and company milestones
  • Create and maintain quarterly strategic communications plan, awards strategy and annual conference target list
  • Work cross-functionally with various departments to announce external facing news (ex. IR, product, sales)
  • Develop creative story angles for pitching top-tier financial and technology publications
  • Pursue expert commentary and thought leadership opportunities related to relevant news, data and trends
  • Support executives with various speaking engagements and media opportunities
  • Manage social media platforms including X, LinkedIn, and YouTube
  • Work with senior executives across Better’s business to develop a holistic internal communications approach
  • Act as a liaison between various departments to deliver communications that ensure employees are in the know, inspired and empowered to meet Better’s goals
  • Lead company-wide announcements including employee communications, policy updates, leadership changes, and major initiatives
  • Foster positive company culture by working cross-collaboratively with the Workplace + People team
  • Own the monthly internal communications newsletter, including intake, drafting, approvals, and distribution
  • Build and maintain internal communications workflows and distribution lists
