About The Position

About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Corporate Banking Associate as part of the Industrials (IND) Corporate & Investment Banking Portfolio Management team. The Industrials Corporate Banking Associate position will be responsible for supporting the underwriting and portfolio management of a broad range of corporate and investment banking solutions to a diverse group of companies in the Industrials portfolio. The role will partner with the Portfolio Manager, Relationship Manager, Industry Coverage and Risk Management to support the execution of credit related functions. This role will partner with the full platform of Wells Fargo’s capabilities including Debt & Equity Capital Markets, Leveraged Finance, M&A related Acquisition Finance, Treasury Management, Macro solutions, Global Receivables & Trade and Credit, to successfully execute transactions for clients. The successful candidate should have a proven ability to develop internal and external relationships and have some relevant corporate banking experience. Industrials sector experience is a plus. In this role, you will: Participate in structuring and executing transactions and supporting more senior staff with financial and credit analysis for assigned portfolio of loans within Corporate Banking Relationship Management functional area Review and interpret credit policies and procedures and incorporate requirements into credit analysis, observations and lending recommendations Proactively identify emerging credit risks, portfolio trends, and industry‑specific issues within the Industrials portfolio, escalating concerns and recommendations Perform or guide credit underwriting work of peers in accounting for all risk factors and providing risk rating recommendations Collaborate and consult with peers, internal partners and stakeholders, including clients Manage direct client interaction, including directing and coordinating execution of transactions with key product partners Provide support to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing underwriting processes, credit documentation standards, portfolio reporting, and analytical tools Mentor and develop junior team members through reviewing work products, delivering constructive feedback, and providing hands-on training

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Corporate Banking Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in portfolio management
  • CIB Portfolio Management experience, including experience with leveraged lending
  • Experience within credit underwriting and/or capital market underwriting
  • Strong credit, accounting and technical skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in working effectively as an individual and as part of a team
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • High level of initiative and accountability
