About The Position

BAE Systems is offering a temporary position as a short-term intern for our FAR Part 91 corporate aviation department located at Washington-Dulles International Airport (KIAD – Dulles, Virginia). Our department consists of a team of professionals committed to providing the highest level of service and safety while operating BAE corporate aircraft in domestic and international operations. The flight department intern will spend 3-weeks in a “full-immersion” environment, gaining first-hand knowledge of corporate aircraft operations and management. The intern will participate in job shadowing across all disciplines including flight crew, dispatch/scheduling, maintenance, safety, cabin safety, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in a graduate program or completed an undergraduate degree within the last 12 months
  • Unrestricted US Passport
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • FAA Commercial Pilot (ASMEL) with Instrument Rating
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and overall computer skills
  • Satisfactory disciplinary record (both at school and in the community)
  • We have a strong desire for a student that has shown an interest in a non-airline career track, has a positive attitude, and is self-motivated to learn and work
  • Applicants will be required to submit a resume and a short essay/cover letter detailing their interest in a non-airline career track as part of the application process

Nice To Haves

  • Preference is somebody that may have completed some of the upper level collegiate courses such as General Aviation Operations and Management, International/Long Range Navigation, Crew Resource Management, Transport Category Systems, Advanced Aircraft Operations, or Advanced Aerodynamics courses
