About The Position

Barnes & Thornburg LLP is seeking a motivated attorney with 3+ years of corporate transactional experience to join our Ann Arbor office. This role offers the unique opportunity to work within our well established and growing aviation practice, while also supporting a broad range of aviation-related general corporate matters. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in corporate law and experience in or a desire to build experience in aviation-related matters within a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative team environment. Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in corporate transactions; experience with or interest in aviation transactions is strongly valued
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and legal research skills
  • Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility for client matters and work both independently and within a team
  • Strong academic credentials and excellent communication skills
  • Admission to the Michigan Bar, or eligibility to obtain admission through waiver
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and committed to contributing to an active and expanding corporate practice

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel on a wide range of aviation matters, including corporate governance, general business matters, and complex commercial agreements
  • Support aviation-related transactional work, including advising clients on aircraft acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, financing, regulatory considerations, and ownership/operational structures
  • Advise clients on business structuring, compliance, and other transactional issues across industries
  • Draft and negotiate high-quality transaction documents with precision and efficiency
  • Manage multiple matters simultaneously and deliver exceptional service to clients
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across offices and practice groups
